Is Microsoft in talks to buy Nokia's mobile division?

News - By: pdaBlast! Staff - May 16, 2011

Engadget is reporting that Microsoft will enter into talks with Nokia to purchase their entire mobile division. If true, this would be a huge deal and a real game changer for Nokia. Engadget cites Eldar Murtazin as the source for the story, and says Murtazin has "not been able to dig up any further intel, but expects a deal could be closed as early as the end of this year."

Mark Squires, UK Communications Director for Nokia, has issued a non-comment that seems to quash the rumor. "We typically don't comment on rumors. But we have to say that Eldar's rumors are getting obviously less accurate with every passing moment."

So what do you think? Would Microsoft do another huge deal even after recently purchasing Skype? Can Microsoft buy their way into the lead in the mobile space? Stay tuned.
