Waterproof your phone with Golden Shellback

News - By: pdaBlast! Staff - July 25, 2008

Golden Shellback Gadget Waterproofing from Gizmodo on Vimeo.

This video shows an amazing demonstration of a waterproofed phone making a call while submerged in a glass of water. The almost invisible process leaves your phone feeling normal and you can't even tell it's been waterproofed until you drop it in a glass of water.

Here's how it works:

"a liquid is heated up into a gas, and is applied to the gadget in a vacuum. The gas reforms and bonds on the gadget surfaces as a deposit. But that's as far as Martin would explain, because of patents that hadn't been finalized."

Very cool!
