Yahoo! and Sprint Offer Push Email

News - By: pdaBlast! Staff - June 08, 2005

Yahoo! and Sprint are teaming up to provide a push-like e-mail service to Sprint's subscribers. The service will use a new Yahoo! Mail for Mobile client with underlying technology from SEVEN. The new service provides access to Yahoo! address books and Yahoo! Mail management capabilities as well as email.

Yahoo! Mail for Mobile costs $2.99 per month and can be accessed on Vision Multimedia handsets from Sanyo and Treo devices from palmOne. It also allows users to store e-mails.

"Sprint recognizes the increasing desire of customers to have a more robust messaging experience on their handset," John Styers, Sprint's director of data communications services, said in a statement.
