NoviiMedia, software developers for mobile devices, unveiled a new version of NoviiRemote for Nokia smartphones, ver. 1.1. The new version supports 3650, 3660, 6260, and 6600 Nokia smartphones.

NoviiRemote for Nokia smartphones is a software program that provides a convenient means of controlling your home entertainment devices, such as TVs, VCRs, satellite and cable boxes, right from your Nokia smartphone. The full commercial version of NoviiRemote for Nokia smartphones permits control of a virtually unlimited number of entertainment devices, bound only by the memory available on your smartphone.

Why NoviiRemote for Nokia smartphones?

NoviiRemote for Nokia smartphones turns Nokia smartphone into a Universal Remote Control. Its primary features include the following:

  • A lot of infra-red codebases included. Format of codebases used by NoviiRemote for Nokia smartphones is totally compatible with that of NoviiRemote for Palm OS. The wizard prompts the user to select the category of a home entertainment device and helps him to find the best codebase for controlling the device.

  • Six existing forms allow controlling all user’s home entertainment devices: TVs, Cable / Satellite Receivers, DVD/CD Players, VCRs, Audio Receivers/Tuners, and PVRs.

  • As opposed to its rivals, NoviiRemote allows switching to a channel just by clicking a few digits on the smartphone body.

  • Smooth volume and channel controls. The user just clicks once and holds the button down to make adjustments. There is no need to click the buttons repeatedly to make changes.

The program supports Symbian OS devices from Nokia 3650, 3660, 6260, and 6600. Future versions will support more Symbian OS handsets.
