Research in Motion and Nokia have announced that they have signed a Blackberry software licensing agreement that will allow Nokia to use and distribute certain Blackberry software in conjunction with Nokia products.

The software deal will allow Nokia to incorporate the Blackberry's proven mobile email solution into Nokia's line of mobile devices. Nokia, already the worlds number 1 mobile phone manufacturer, is looking to the future when we will see an increased usage of devices with multiple benefits. Combining access to corporate email through a mobile phone is one way to increase the benefit of Nokia's mobile devices.

RIM has been very active recently in getting licensing agreements signed. In the last week we have seen RIM enter into licensing agreements with Palm and Handspring for keyboard technology, and now RIM has signed an agreement with Nokia. This looks to be a promising sign that RIM is here to stay.
